{"id":275,"date":"2013-01-31T16:49:28","date_gmt":"2013-01-31T15:49:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wehaveasituation.net\/?page_id=275"},"modified":"2019-05-24T17:45:51","modified_gmt":"2019-05-24T15:45:51","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wehaveasituation.net\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>an ongoing series of live, trans-border, online-offline participatory performances addressing current cross-cultural issues.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/132272012\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em>We have a situation!<\/em> was initiated in 2012 by cyberformance artist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.creative-catalyst.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Helen Varley Jamieson<\/a> in collaboration with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apo33.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">APO33<\/a> (Nantes), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.furtherfield.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Furtherfield<\/a> (London), <a href=\"http:\/\/.madlab.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MAD emergent art centre<\/a> (Eindhoven) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.schaumbad.mur.at\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Schaumbad Freies Atelierhaus<\/a> (Graz).<\/p>\n<p>The project uses <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cyberformance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">cyberformance<\/a> (online\/networked performance) as a tool to promote social agency and engagement, and enhance cross-cultural understanding, through real-time conversational events that connect local and global participants in a temporary community.<\/p>\n<p>The following &#8220;situations&#8221; have been created:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wehaveasituation.net\/?page_id=1662\"><em>Nationhood in Dialogue<\/em><\/a>, Northumbria University, UK, May 2018<\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wehaveasituation.net\/?page_id=1414\">We have a situation, Coventry!<\/a><\/em>, Coventry University, UK, November 2016<\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wehaveasituation.net\/?page_id=1222\">Temos uma Quest\u00e3o!<\/a><\/em>, Multicidade Festival, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, November 2015<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wehaveasituation.net\/?page_id=527\"><em>U.F.F. &#8211; Unidentified Flying Food<\/em><\/a>, Schaumbad Freies Atelierhaus, Graz, Austria, May 2013<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wehaveasituation.net\/?page_id=705\"><em>Peopoly<\/em><\/a>, MAD emergent art center, Eindhoven, Netherlands, April 2013<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wehaveasituation.net\/?page_id=504\"><em>Recycle a Boeing<\/em><\/a>, APO33, Nantes, France, April 2013<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wehaveasituation.net\/?page_id=413\"><em>Working with Electronic Waste<\/em><\/a>, Furtherfield, London, UK, March 2013<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The first four situations were funded with a grant from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.culturalfoundation.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">European Cultural Foundation<\/a>.
